This club has multiple identities. Kinda like like Latin Batman or a pasty Daredevil. By day, it’s a mild-mannered college bar. But Wednesdays, it morphs into Salsa Night, sponsored by Salsa Boston. The venue also hosts Ceremony, one of the city’s only existing goth nights on Mondays. If you get confused which night is which, just bring black lipstick and a shirt you can tie in front.

835 Beacon St., Boston. All ages until 10 p.m., then 21+.  MBTA: Green Line to Kenmore. 617.513.9841.
Bill’s Bar
Remember the scene in “Fever Pitch,” supposedly in Bill’s Bar, where Red Sox alumni are chowing down? Well, that isn’t the real Bill’s. Don’t expect to sit down to a nice quiet meal. Bill’s is a cozy bar (capacity: 240) with comfy booths to slouch into, and a good-sized stage at one end. It will, apparently, escape the Lansdowne Street overhaul in tact.  Though Bill’s suffered in the past from unimaginative booking (i.e., cover bands and more cover bands),  Bill’s now has more interesting fare, especially midweek. It’s still mostly local, offering everything from indie to heavy metal, with a regular reggae night every Sunday.

5  1/2 Lansdowne St., Boston. Often 18+ but depends on the act. MBTA: Green Line to Kenmore. 617.421.9678.
