GAME. There’s no know-it-all like the foodie know-it-all, that guy who corrects your pronunciation of “osso buco” and knows the proper wine pairing for Spanish tapas (it’s Tempranillo, by the way).
For those brainiacs, and those that suffer from knowing them, is “Foodie Fight” (Chronicle Books, $19), a new trivia game all about eating. Trivia categories include “Foodiesphere” and “Food Stars,” and it’s one of the few challenges that rewards those who know what the chow-related song in “Oliver!” was called.
The Metro staff put their food knowledge to the test with a few “Foodie Fight” questions. Their not-so-know-it-all answers:
Q: What country has a tradition of all-male, private gastronomic societies that cook some of the country’s finest dishes?
Dorothy Robinson: I don’t know, but can I have a ticket to go there?
(Real answer: Spain)
