While the Back Bay Restaurant Group’s patios are now open for business, many diners can’t wait for the warm weather to eat by the large open windows at Sonsie and on roofdecks like Ristorante Fiore’s. While the Back Bay Restaurant Group’s patios are now open for business, many diners can’t wait for the warm weather to eat by the large open windows at Sonsie and on roofdecks like Ristorante Fiore’s.

A brand new season’s greetings

ROUNDUP. No, these events don’t come with Santa and his eight reindeer, but something tells us that’s okay with you. Spring is upon us. Drink and eat up.

Apry showers
April makes its mark on menus across Boston. At 33, sip on a spring concoction made of apricot puree, rum, honey simple syrup and Marie Brizard Apry liquor. The drink, garnished with a dried apricot on a skewer and served on the rocks, is a $14 dose of the warm-weather season we’ve all been looking forward to.

Cocktail of the month
While the Boston Harbor Hotel has spent the past few months focused on wine, April ushers in a new way to quench your thirst at the Rowes Wharf Bar. For $13.50, get your share of antioxidants and caffeine by drinking the cocktail of the month, a Ginger Green Tea Martini. Aside from the obvious (green tea), the martini is comprised of Grey Goose Citron Vodka, ginger-infused simple syrup and a mint garnish.

All’s good in the neighborhood
With the start of April, Vox Populi has introduced its “Neighborhood Menu” on Boylston Street. From 5-7 p.m., reap the rewards of this three-course menu available for a fraction of the price ($24.95).  Begin with spicy black bean soup, grilled garlic asparagus wrapped in prosciutto or a watercress salad adorned with goat cheese, artichokes and red grapes. Continue with crawfish, country-fried steak or chicken under a brick, and don’t leave without a taste of freshly baked peanut butter cookies or the strawberry Napoleon.

Open-air affair
This past Tuesday was the perfect sun-drenched day to have our first annual al fresco dining experience, and luck was on the side of the Back Bay Restaurant Group. April 1st was the date slated for the patios of eateries like Abe & Louie’s, Bouchee, Joe’s American Bar & Grill, Charley’s and Atlantic Fish Co. to open. And because the forecast doesn’t seem quite as balmy, the restaurants are sure to have heaters on hand. Let’s just hope those April showers don’t cramp our style.
