Red Sox:
In the second game of a three-game series tonight at 7 at Fenway (NESN, 680 AM WRKO), the Sox will send Daisuke Matsuzaka (4-0, 3.14 ERA) to the mound against Toronto right-hander Dustin McGowan (1-2, 4.18 ERA). Matsuzaka, who will be going for career win No. 20 tonight, is in the midst of a four-game win streak to start the year, the longest win streak he’s had since he won four in a row from May 9-25 last spring.
Celtics:
Celtics coach Doc Rivers has two words for Boston basketball fans who might be worried after watching Game 4 of the Celtics-Hawks playoff series Monday night: “Don’t jump.” That’s some pretty good advice, considering the fact the series will return to the TD Banknorth Garden for Game 5 tonight at 8:30 (CSN, Sportsradio 850 WEEI). There are few things that are more of a lock than the C’s at home this year. They finished the regular season with a 35-6 home record, second best in the league. In addition, they won the first two games of the series by an average of 21 points. Feel better?
Revolution:
The Revs next meet the Chicago Fire at Gillette Stadium Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (TV38). New England headed into its extended break last Thursday with a 1-0 win over Dallas.
