Red Sox:
The Sox and Jays wrap up a three-game set at Fenway tonight at 7 (NESN, AM 680 WRKO) when veteran knuckleballer Tim Wakefield (2-0, 4.06 ERA) meets Toronto’s A.J. Burnett (2-2, 6.07 ERA). In his long career, the 41-year-old Wakefield is more familiar with the Jays than any other team — tonight marks his 47th appearance against Toronto and his 37th career start against the Jays.
Celtics:
Game 6 of what is fast becoming one of the more memorable first-round series in recent NBA history will be played tomorrow night when the C’s meet the Hawks at Philips Arena in Atlanta (CSN, Sportsradio 850 WEEI). Panicky Hub basketball fans can take heart in several positive stats, including the fact that Boston is 5-0 all-time in playoff series against the Hawks. (The Celtics defeated Atlanta in the postseason in 1972, 1973, 1983, 1986 and 1988.)
Revolution:
The Revs next meet the Chicago Fire at Gillette Stadium Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (TV38). The match gives New England a shot at revenge — the Revs were defeated, 3-0, by the Fire on April 3 in Chicago. In addition, the two teams are locked in a tie for second place in the Eastern Conference standings with 10 points each.
