Red Sox:
The Sox and Tigers meet in the second game of their four-game series tonight at 7 at Detroit’s Comerica Park (NESN, 680 AM WRKO). Tim Wakefield (2-1, 4.03 ERA) will get the start for the Sox against Detroit southpaw Nate Robertson (1-3, 6.82 ERA). Wakefield is poised on the verge of a career mark — he enters tonight’s game with 1,699 as a Red Sox pitcher, good for second place in franchise history.

Celtics:
You may have heard about it — there’s a little basketball game going on over on Causeway Street tonight. Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series between the Celtics and Cavs tips off at 8 at the TD Banknorth Garden (ESPN, Sportsradio 850 WEEI).

Revolution:
After a loss to Chicago last weekend, the New England Revolution will try and get back on track Sunday at 3 p.m. when they travel to meet CD Chivas (TV38).
