The Buzz: 5/7

Red Sox:
Game 3 of the Sox-Tigers series is set for 7 tonight at Detroit’s Comerica Park (NESN, AM 680 WRKO). Boston is set to send youngster Clay Buchholz (2-2, 3.71 ERA) to the hill against Detroit right-hander Armando Galarraga (2-1, 1.88 ERA). It’ll be new territory for both pitchers — tonight will mark the first start for Buchholz against the Tigers, while Galarraga will be facing the Sox for the first time in his career.

Celtics:
Game 2 of the Celtics-Cavs series is set for tomorrow at 7 at the TD Banknorth Garden (ESPN, Sportsradio 850 WEEI). While Paul Pierce and LeBron James haven’t been especially fond of each other in the past, Pierce certainly sounded like a fan of James prior to Game 1, calling him “arguably the best player in the NBA.” James averaged 32.3 points in three games against the Celtics, so it wasn’t much of a surprise when Pierce added, “You’ve always got to keep an eye on him wherever he is on the court.”

Revolution:
After a loss to Chicago last weekend, the New England Revolution will try and get back on track Sunday at 3 p.m. when they travel to meet CD Chivas (TV38). Chivas has one of our favorite team names — the Goats. When it comes to their matchup with Chivas, the Revs haven’t been all that “baaaaaaaaad.” (Get it? Baaaad? Because they’re goats?) Anyway, New England and Chivas have met each other six times, and the series is currently 2-2-2.
