Get ready to bottle up and explode

ROUNDUP. Bottles are popping all over the city. New bottles. New labels. New concoctions. Drink up!

New organic wines
In an attempt to be ahead of the trend, Christopher’s was quick to add organic wines to its list in 1985. They didn’t win many fans at that time. Finally, the restaurant is satisfied with the much-improved flavors of these wines and has added three new ones to the menu. Indulge in Parducci Wine Cellars’ Petite Sirah from California, a golden Cotes du Rhone Blanc from France’s M. Chapontier in Belleruche, and Gruet Winery’s full-bodied Sparkling Brut from New Mexico.

Spring cocktail menu

This week’s killer weather has had patios buzzing. At another Mass. Ave. hot spot, West Side Lounge, the drink list is suddenly burgeoning with springtime sippers. Fresh rhubarb puree embellishes the rhubarb sour, while the “Spring Thyme Gimlet” is  a pleasing combination of gin infused with fresh thyme. Ahh, things really are in full bloom!

Christiania Vodka

Toast to the recent opening of 29 Newbury’s patio. You won’t be alone. The eatery is also celebrating by adding Christiania Vodka to its stocked bar. It might just convert some vodka vixens from their Grey Goose. We said might.
