BOSTON. Two teenagers will be charged for their alleged connection to the shooting death of 13-year-old Luis Gerena last year, Boston Police announced Thursday.
Nurudeen Alabi, 19, and Darrell Rodrigues, 17, both of Roxbury, will be formally charged Friday in Roxbury District Court with murder and weapons offenses. They already were in custody on other matters when detectives obtained arrest warrants Thursday.
Gerena was allegedly shot multiple times early on the evening of Jan. 12, 2007, near Parker Street in Jamaica Plain. Authorities believe Gerena was first hit on Horan Way but fled to Parker and then collapsed at the Jackson Square T station.
Gerena’s murder came in a 22-day span last year in which three boys 14 years old or younger were killed in the city.
