Red Sox:
Boston heads to Baltimore for a brief two-game series with the O’s, which kicks off tonight at 7 at Camden Yards (NESN, AM 680 WRKO). Josh Beckett (4-2, 3.70 ERA) will face righty Jeremy Guthrie (1-3, 4.32 ERA). After a slow start, Beckett has come on quickly. He won three of his last four starts, and the Texas native has struck out 26 in his last 22 innings of work. As for the 29-year-old Guthrie, he picked up his first win of the year on May 2 against the Angels, a seven-inning, three-hit effort that resulted in a 4-3 victory over Los Angeles.
Celtics:
The Celtics and Cavs meet in a key Game 5 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series tomorrow night at 8 at the TD Banknorth Garden (TNT, Sportsradio 850 WEEI).
Revolution:
The Revs host San Jose Saturday night at 7:30 at Gillette Stadium (TV38). The Revs are 0-9-3 in their last 12 meetings with the Earthquakes, including 0-6-1 in their last seven meetings in New England.
