What’s old is now new again

PREVIEW. ABC isn’t tinkering much with its primetime programming, announcing the pickup of just two new shows for the fall season at its Upfront presentation yesterday. Added to the schedule is the scripted drama “Life on Mars,” a cop show based on the BBC series, and “Opportunity Knocks,” an Ashton Kutcher-produced, family-themed game show.

ABC’s midseason will include the critically acclaimed comedy “Scrubs,” formerly seen on NBC. The sitcom will be joined by the animated comedy “The Goode Family,” from “King of the Hill” creator Mike Judge. An untitled reality series from Kutcher and Tyra Banks, described as “a beauty pageant unlike any you’ve ever seen,” will also debut midseason.
