Walsh says Patriots’ scalped Super tix

NFL. While not much news was made on the Patriots’ videotaping front yesterday, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell did say that two potential rules violations came out of his meeting with former Pats’ employee Matt Walsh.

Walsh told the commissioner he was part of a ticket-scalping scheme that involved some Patriots players and Super Bowl tickets.

“He said that he was the one that sold the tickets,” Goodell said. “He said it was limited to four or five a season, over two seasons, so I think it was somewhere between 8 and 12.”

In addition, Walsh told Goodell that a player who was on injured reserve had illegally practiced with the team, reportedly back in 2001.

“We’re verifying that. That is something we have been looking into,” Goodell said. “I will tell you up front, though, the way we normally handle those matters, those are matters of a team fine if they are verified.”
