ROUNDUP. While we may have a beef with some products from New York (specifically the Yankees), we must admit some of the Empire State’s creations aren’t half bad. If you haven’t already been introduced, meet the Long Island Iced Tea. We assume you have met — every college student knows the fastest route to a buzz is a drink with a variety of hard liquors. But several local establishments are putting a spin on the long-time fave, so pick your sweet and delicious poison.
Mo’s Hampton Iced Tea
Like the neighborhood it’s named after, this cocktail is high-class, OK? Silvertone Bar & Grill’s general manager puts her name on this concoction that incorporates the high-and-mighty likes of Belvedere vodka, Tangueray 10, Grand Marnier, Petron Silver, Ron Zacapa aged rum, sour mix and Coca-Cola. You can almost see Kelly Ripa indulging in one. Or if you swear you do, perhaps you’ve had one too many.

Bavarian Iced T
Who knew the Bohemian lifestyle came equipped with a Long Island Iced Tea in hand? At least it does at The Beehive. Their Bavarian Iced T is a blend of vodka, Barenjager Honey Liquer, honey brown syrup, lemon and iced tea. We’re willing to swarm to the bar for this sipper.

Long Island Cucumber Tea
The Long Island Iced Tea proves to be as refreshing as it is inebriating at the Birch Bar inside The Westin Boston Waterfront. After all, so are those breezes in the Seaport District. Cool off on a hot day with Beverage Manager Donald Fleury’s combination of citrus vodka, Silver tequila, light rum, Hendriks gin, lemoncello, fresh-squeezed lemons, sliced cucumber, sugar and a splash of cola. We’ll take this serving of veggies any day.

The Masona Long Island Iced Tea
Creating a cocktail more on the traditional side, the cozy Masona Grill pours equal parts tequila, rum and citrus vodka, then adds a splash of Grand Marnier or Triple Sec and two slices of lemon. After ample shaking, the drink is topped with Coke and garnished with a lemon wedge. Chances are, you won’t snub tradition after a taste.
