BLUE MAN GROUP 3X3 BASEBALL SWEEPSTAKES OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES
No Payment, Entry Fee or Purchase Required to enter or win a prize. All entrants must be at least 21 years of age to participate.
1. Sweepstakes Period: The Blue Man Group 3x3 Baseball Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) begins at 12:01 AM E.S.T., Friday, 8/22/08, and ends at 11:59 AM E.S.T., Sunday, 9/28/08, (“Sweepstakes Period”).
2. Sponsor: METRO Boston, 320 Congress Street, Boston, MA 02210 (“Sponsor”).
3. Eligibility: To enter you must be a lawful permanent resident of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, or Rhode Island, and be at least 21 years of age. Entries received from persons residing outside of the eligible geographic areas, or where restricted or prohibited by law, will be disqualified. Employees of Sponsor, Blue Man Group, and their respective affiliates, parents, subsidiaries, officers, directors, shareholders, agents, advisors, independent contractors, representatives, and all others associated with the development and execution of this Sweepstakes, and the immediate family or members of the households of each, whether or not related, (collectively “Sweepstakes Entities”) are not eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes. The Sweepstakes is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and void where prohibited or restricted by Law.
4. How to enter: Complete the required information and submit the official entry form found online at metrobostonnews.com during the Sweepstakes Period. Limit 1 entry per person per day. Incomplete/illegible entries will be disqualified. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning. Sponsor is not responsible for any technological glitches with the website, power outages, server outages, or any other technical issues that may affect one’s ability to enter online. Contestants may also enter by sending a 3” x 5” postcard to Blue Man Group 3x3 Baseball Sweepstakes, c/o Metro Boston, 320 Congress Street, Boston, MA 02110
5. Contestant Selection and Notification: All contestants for each week’s allocation of Boston baseball games will be selected from all eligible entries through a random drawing held on or about each Monday at 12pm by an employee of Sponsor, the judge of the Sweepstakes, whose decisions on all matters related to these Official Rules will be final and binding. For example, if there are six Boston baseball games during a given week, then six contestants will be selected on Monday – each contestant’s name corresponding to a designated Boston baseball game during that week. Odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period. Contestants will be notified either by e-mail or telephone, at Sponsor’s discretion, by 5:00 P.M. during the day of each contestant’s designated baseball game. If being notified by phone, and in the event that a potential contestant is not home, a voicemail will be left with specific instructions.
6. How to Win: A contestant will be deemed a winner if and only if Boston scores exactly 3 runs in the 3rd inning of his/her designated Boston baseball game. Contestant is NOT considered a winner should Boston score more than 3 runs in the 3rd inning, or if the opposing team scores 3 or more runs in the 3rd inning. Additionally, in the event that Boston scores 3 runs in the 3rd inning of a game other than a contestant’s designated game, he/she does not qualify for the prize; only the corresponding contestant for each Boston baseball game is eligible for that game’s prize.
7. Prize: In the event of a successful winner, contestant will be awarded a mini-group for eight (8 tickets) to a designated performance of Blue Man Group at the Charles Playhouse in Boston. Blackout dates may apply. Any and all taxes on a prize, and any other costs, fees, and expenses not explicitly stated herein are the sole responsibility of the prize winner.
Prize is non-transferable. No substitution for prize or redemption for cash permitted, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event of prize unavailability. Approximate retail value of the prize is $360.00.
8. Releases/Taxes: Potential winner will be required to execute and return a notarized Affidavit of Eligibility, and winner and travel companion will be required to sign a Liability Release (the “Affidavit/Release”), except where prohibited. All Affidavit/Releases must be returned within the time indicated in the documents. Otherwise, or if an entrant is found to be ineligible, or if he/she does not comply with the Official Rules, then he/she will be disqualified, and an alternate potential winner will be selected from among all eligible entries. If prize documentation or notifications are returned as undeliverable, this will result in disqualification, and an alternate potential winner will be selected from among all eligible entries. All federal, state, local, or other tax liabilities in connection with a winner’s award, acceptance or use of a prize arising from this Sweepstakes, will be the sole responsibility of the winner.
9. Sweepstakes Conditions: By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules, that the decision of the judge will be final and binding, to be contacted by the Sponsor by e-mail, telephone, or mail, and to release, discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless each and every Sweepstakes Entity from and against any and all claims, damages, or liability for injuries, damages, losses, or actions of any kind resulting from participation in this Sweepstakes or any Sweepstakes-related activity.
10. Rules/Winner’s List: To receive a list of the winner or an additional copy of these Official Rules, send a self addressed, stamped envelope by 10/30/08, to Metro Boston, 320 Congress Street, Boston, MA Attn: Blue Man Group 3x3 Baseball Sweepstakes.
