BOSTON. House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi, answering rumors he might not attend next week’s Democratic National Convention, said yesterday afternoon he plans to go and vote for Hillary Clinton, not presumptive Democratic nominee Barack Obama.
DiMasi reaffirmed his opposition to casinos, saying he was still reviewing the Spectrum Gaming Group report on casinos commissioned by the administration, but predicted that proponents would use the state’s budget “crisis” to build support.
With the Obama and Clinton camps agreeing last week that her name would be read into nomination and delegates opened to voting for her, DiMasi said he would stick with his candidate.
“I was a Hillary Clinton supporter and she took New Hampshire and Massachusetts, where I worked for her,” he said.
