What do you feel is the biggest issue facing Brockton leading up to the election?
-I definitely think it’s the economy. I’m trying to grow jobs for people in Brockton … a lot of Brockton people have been laid off and are looking for new work and don’t necessarily have the skills they need. Everyone’s feeling the pinch of housing prices and salaries are staying the same.
If elected, how will you work to improve Brockton’s economy?
-I think we need to make the state more competitive in general. I want to work to expand the historic tax credit that the state offers to companies it develops … it’s currently capped. I want to raise that cap so that more companies can receive the credit.
How will you work to improve the employment situation?
Not only invest more, but really examine the skills that our employers need from their employees.
