There is no cure for ‘Housewives’
Despite spending two seasons on “Real Housewives of New Jersey,” it seems Danielle Staub managed to emerge with some notions of self-worth, decency and the dangers of reality TV. Bravo, Danielle!

Barrymore than a feeling
Drew Barrymore has had some duds for onscreen partners in romantic comedies — not that she’s about to name names. “The worst is when you’re kissing someone who is not a good kisser, and you’re trying to make it look good, and you feel like you’re just working on your own,” she says. Luckily her latest film, “Going the Distance,” pairs her with someone very near to her heart: ex-boyfriend Justin Long.

Brazil’s sin city
Just as the world looks to Brazil as a nation that knows how to party, Bra-zil looks to Salvador as the city that can out-party even Rio. Hit-and-run suspect given bail

An East Torresdale man who admitted involvement in a fatal hit-and-run earlier this month is not a risk of running from Philadelphia before trial, his defense attorney maintained in court yesterday.

Manuel Albandoz, 39, is charged with homicide by vehicle, driving under the influence and other offenses in connection with the July 11 collision at Torresdale and Adams avenues which left 24-year-old Celina Langan dead. Albandoz’s sister, a police officer, accompanied him to Accident Investigation Division a day later, attorney Louis Savino Jr. said. Albandoz admitted he had “had some drinks, got scared and left the scene,” according to Savino.

Held without bail since, Savino asked Judge Kenneth Powell to lower it to $50,000, assistant district attorney Brian Zarallo argued for $200,000 but the judge settled on $100,000. Relatives, including his son and mother, were in court, but Albandoz wasn’t.

“The commonwealth was hoping for more in light of the severity of the crime,” Zarallo said afterwards.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Sept. 1. As of yesterday afternoon, Albandoz remained in custody.
